If you have fully blanked your EGR you will get an EML unless you map it out. If you remove the blank, you will lose the EML after about 5-6 starts (removing key in between).
If you don't want to map it, or wont accept the EML (it won't cause limp mode, but could hide other reasons for the EML) then you will need a restrictor plate instead (a blanking plate with a hole/s in ), available on e-bay for £4. Will give most of the benefits of blanking without an EML
