Hmmm Bridgestone T001 Alfa Fitment

Searching for new tyres for my 147 2.0, I spotted a couple of tyre dealers doing Alfa/Fiat/Lancia fitment Bridgestone T001 205/55V R16. I contacted two dealers and both said they are a slightly different compound to standard - and of course they cost slightly more (although only an extra 2.80 each).

Anyone else heard of this or is it a ploy to get an extra few quid out of us?

There is no need to go with the OEM tire - do your own shopping... There are a lot of alternatives out there.

The Hankooks scored better in testing, but overall public impression is a smidgen lower - here they are cheaper

I quite like these they scored better in public eyes - recently bought them for a good 20% less than bridgestones
