Speaker adapters (for aftermarket) to fit GT?
So had the car apart (pics to follow, it was very apart) to change all 4 door speakers, although I only did the rear speakers as I had to remove those panels to run power/speaker lead to amp in the boot (another story).
The factory speakers are not a standard fit, they are on a surround that stands about 25mm (1 inch) out from the door, both front and back. This means an aftermarket speaker is too far back into the doors, and in the case of the front doors will foul the window.
I fabricated some speaker mounts for the back from MDF, although I found out today that autoleads SAK-1007 is the right adapter for this. Autoleads list no adapters for GT, the SAK-1007 is for a 147, but looking on the web today I can see its the right one.
The front speaker mount is not the same as the rear, as I think it is in a 147, it needs 4 fixing screws not 3... Problem is I need an adapter for the front speakers, has anyone found one (Italy?) or made one themselves for a GT?
