Re: Cruise Control won't engage
Hi there guys...
I had the same problem with my 03 147.
the retaining pin that holds the clutch piston onto the clutch pedal snapped and therefore i lost the clutch. one RAC call out and a tow truck later and i find that it could have been fixed with a nail... (or at least a split pin). oh well.
the odd thing is that the cruise control stopped working after this little issue had been fixed (with a simple split-pin).
so i was wondering... is there a right and wrong way to reconnect the clutch pedal to the piston top? it seemed so simple (and i was so relieved that it was) that i did not stop to check.
at the moment, the switch is not being made and broken when the clutch pedal moves up and down. so as far as the computer is concerned, the clutch is down the whole time so the cruise control won't come on.
there is a simple work around for this, but as it involves unplugging something i'm not so sure it is a good idea.
