Dead battery so the accelerator pedal stops working?!?
My Auxiliary belt broke which is why my battery was dieing as it cant charge without the belt on the alternator.
Anyway I took the Aux belt off the car just to go out quick.
I thought this will be fine, no power steering or ABS but will still be drive-able until I get the parts for a new pulley and belt tomorrow.
Then on my way back home I'm going down the road and the accelerator pedal just stops working!
Its like the car is stalling. I was so confused I thought that the car would run without battery power as long as the engine was running already?
So my bro comes to help out with his GT and thankfully jump starts my car. Which it then dies in the same way twice on the short trip home. Having to be jump started again.
Anyone have an explanation why the accelerator pedal just stopped working?
Does the engine need some electrical thing on to run? My car is a 147 if that helps.
Just wondering, Thanks for any advice.
