156 CODE problem after battery change
Any advice gratefully received. My 156 1.9 JTD Sport finally decided the battery was not cutting the mustard and car wouldnt start the other day. Green flag boosted and off I went to get a new battery, locally not at my usual alfa place in Liverpool. Seemed a long drive from Yorkshire just for a battery.
When he changed it he unscrewed engine cover to disconnect the hose at the engine block. The key was left in the ignition during the change but off. The battery was slightly smaller in physical size but they assured me it was fine, higher cold cranking power etc and a good make
The car started no problem when I left the garage, now tonight the first time I have used it since it wont start. Coil light doesnt glow, immobiliser code light stays on constant and centre consol flashes up vdc control failure. Engine turns but obviously doesnt start. Tried the other key and same thing. handbook talks about a code card for emergency start but i dont have one.
