Rear Shock Assembly Upward Movement
Had my 2007 49,000 mile GT Blackline MOT`d yesterday and pleased to report that passed OK but tester informed and showed me, his concern over the amount of upward movement of the offside complete shock assembly compared to the nearside unit. I am not referring to spring or shocker compression, the whole unit on the offside was moving .5 / .75 of an inch approx up into wheel arch and you could see the rubber moving up as well. The other side just flexed up a tiny amount by comparison. Tester admitted that he was not sure if this should be a concern on an Alfa GT but still marked up the certificate on an advisory basis.
Not experienced any ride or noise issues with the suspension so I would appreciate any thoughts prior to making a special 36 mile trip to nearest indie.
