SELSPEED stuck in N - check fuse 13

I can see that this Selespeed is going to give me hours of heartache for years to come. Some of you may have read my last missive concerning the contaminated Selespeed fluid - or Irish Cream. Well, it's still there and the system seems fine! I did drain as much of it away as I could and replenished with fresh CS fluid. Whether or not this brought the fluid up towards the neccessary specific gravity to provide pressure I don't know but I still plan on flushing the system but at present it is working well.

The latest glitch came yesterday. I have been trying to get my reversing warning system working. It takes its power from the reverse light circuit so I had several spells with Mrs Speedbird sat with R selected and foot on footbrake while I checked out the wiring.

In the midst of taking some readings suddenly zero volts registering. Selespeed has gone into N. Restart - stuck in N. Oh bother! Pump is working - no Selespeed warning caption - and no brake lights as later informed by daughter.

My rudimentary knowledge of the system (although increasing daily!) linked footbrake to ability to select gears. Delved into handbook to find that fuse 13 (10A) on the panel below the steerng column was the one to check - and hey presto it was blown. Replaced and all is well with the world again.

So, if you find yourself stuck in N, first place to check might be that fuse 13. Lucky for some!
