Got hold of a company that specialises in "supplying" LPG gear, but does not fit it. Though they can do safety approvals.
Guy seamed genuine on the phone.
He said they were happy to supply the equipment, but said the main economy gains were only really applicable to older diesels. Much less so to newer common rail diesels. However, getting more power was very much an option. Apparently too much LPG in a diesel would lead to preignition etc. hence it needs to be set to a safe level etc. etc.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, since the 2.4 JTD is a common rail (I'm sure I read that somewhere), Can't really see any major advantage to going down the LPG route. Unless I was looking for huge quantities of HP which would probably break something very quickly.
Besides, I'm on a tight budget and this is sounding too expensive compared to a remap and alot more risky. Imagine having to turn up on the forum with my tail between my legs if I did do it and it went pair shaped
Back to remapping it is I guess. Angel Tuning are not too far from me. So I guess I'll be giving them a call soon.
By the way, how important would it be to have a "Reinforced Clutch" fitted following a remap. Sure I read something about it on one of the forums, but can't find anything about it now.
