The engineering solution sounds best, either bend back into place, cut off and weld new piece or cut off and sleeve new piece in with threaded collar.
If they can get to it they might be able to bend it back. They arms don`t have to be 100% straight to work properly, just as close as possible. If they have a tiny bend left then adjustment of the length through the TR end should be enough.
Grip it in a big metal vice and squash it back out straight. If you are feeling manly enough you may be able to get a big vice under the car and do it without disconnecting - although it`ll be awkward.
