indicator problems

can anybody help. Just purchased my first alfa 156,went out this morning & my indicators & hazards arent working. It did this yesterday but they started working again. Any ideas????

If it is an intermittent fault then it is going to be a dodgy electrical connection, or a stuffed indicator relay. The indicator relay lives in the relays box and should click if it works when the indicator work, they are cheap and easy to replace. If that doesn't help, try havin a look where the relay plugs in for corroded, or loose wires, these might be the cause of the problem and a quick clean and tighten might fix it for you.

On my 156 the offside indicator sometimes stops working, then I tap the fuse cover and it starts working again.

Sounds typical Alfa to me! Only look into it, if it persists!
