selespeed failure

Hi I am new to the Alfa forum so I suspect this problem may have been discussed in the past. There appear to be lots of Selespeed problems. What a shame as I really enjoy the driving experience with it.
I am driving a 2003 156 2.0 Selespeed. Today I heard a grinding noise while driving home. When I stopped at a junction the selespeed put me into Neutral my itself and now it will not select a gear, 1st or reverse.

A week ago I had a warning when I had the problem temporarily. On that occasion there was no grinding noise. I switched off the ignition and after restarting I was able to find a gear and off I went.

Any pointers / advice gratefully accepted.

Hi Marcus, welcome on board. Have a look through the site and if nothing comes up, do post in the 156 Lounge.

Re: selespeed failure

Have you checked the Selespeed fluid level?
