If you disconnect the battery, this won't screw up the immobiliser/CODE system.
Disconnect the earth/neg first then disconnect the positive terminal, give the battery posts a good clean, scotchbrite or medium grade wet/dry will do, also clean the cable terminals as well. Whilst the battery is disconnected, if you have a charger then this will be an ideal time to charge up, preferably overnight, can be charged in situ or on the bench, your choice. Once you are satisfied refit battery, if removed, then reconnect the POSITIVE first then earth/neg. Once terminals are tight, smother the battery posts/terminals in vaseline, this helps to prevent corrosion.
One word of caution, if you radio has a security code then make sure you have this when reconnected for obvious reasons.
