Multiple System Failures
I just purchased a new Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 Selespeed. I've had it checked by the Alfa team here in Oz, and they've said that the ECU needs replacing. Replaced it, but still have the same problem.
Problem is as follows: the following warning signs pop up - "Selespeed System Failure, Motor Control System Failure, ABS System Failure, VDC System Failure"
So this is what happens....it will only allow you to use Neutral, Reverse, 1st and 2nd....and changing from gears is slightly jolty. Apart from that, the engine feels and sounds fine. I'm thinking its just the ECU getting a false reading - either because of busted sensors or improper voltage.
Anyone got any suggestions? I've been reading some posts with similar problems, but people seem to be having all sorts of problems. Clearly, it can't be the ECU. Might be a problem with the Sensors? Or what about this battery voltage idea? I'll go check that out today...we'll see what happens.
Anyone who has advice, or perhaps experienced something similar, please share - I'm a student who could barely afford to buy the car - i cant afford expensive repairs.
Kind regards, Mehran.
