Kangarooing 156 - now desperate
My 1999 1.8TS has had a intermittent problem on very light throttle below 3000rpm. The kangarooing can range from mild to severe. The idle will also occasionally fluctuate between 800 - 1500rpm and sometimes produce a strong vibration when idling, this feels like the type of vibration with the old fashioned diesel engines.
To date, the car has been into a independent Alfa garage and a fuel injection specialist on numerous times.
So far the following has been changed.
New Maf, spark plugs, temperature sensor, thermostat, lambda (twice), catalytic converter, injectors stripped & cleaned, idle actuator.
The throttle body has been cleaned several times but did not look particular dirty. Using AlfaDiag, no errors reported, all the tests ie purge valve etc are fine. The two garages have checked all the sensors and no further problems are reported. The throttle and ECU have been reset countless times. Engine mountings also appear to be in good condition
So, after spending a lot of money and being told the car is fine, I am still intermittently kangarooing on a light throttle.
I have just been made redundant and so I cannot afford to swap every component in the engine in the hope it will work
