Sometimes I wish I was born with a nice, smooth, shiny, empty brain. Without any passion for anything: people, places, things and especially cars.
This weekend I made a 1200km trip. 90% of the trip was a heavy rain, not pleasant at all. Anyway, yesterday I was taking the luggage out and I realized that on the front right passenger side, at feet, there is a small water pool. To mention that the steering wheel is on the left side of the car.
I will exclude the possibility that the exhaust holes for water coming from the windscreen are jammed, because I checked them last summer and they were ok. And starting from November last year, the car stays in a garage.
So, the thing is that the water coming inside is not clean, is full of mud, so I think is not coming from somewhere up, but from the road. The upper part of the threshold is clean, so water coming in near the seal seems not likely.
There are some pictures from underneath the car. There you can see a bending, which is not made by me while driving the car, because I would remember. I think that is from some, lets say not that smart guy from a wheel service, who put the jack in the wrong position. I don't know if that banding is the problem.
Also, the underneath side of the threshold is not looking very good.
For the moment I have wiped as much as I could but is still wet. And most of all I know that this will not solve the problem.
Anyway as soon as I can I will take the car into a proper service to take of chair, finishing, insulation, and see exactly what is the problem and the source of the problem.
So, in the end, if anybody can give me a hint about where to start to check, it will be great.
What I forgot yesterday is the second water issue. Yeah, it looks like my car is like a Schweitzer lately.
I have some water coming inside from the rain or from washing (at carwash) somewhere over and a little bit left from clutch pedal. But this is totally random. There is no pattern. It can be a 3 days heavy rain and no drop inside, or it can be a 10 minutes rain and water inside. Or any other combination you can imagine.
I took some measures but not very successful: as you can see in the pictures, there are some holes on the left side of the car near the hinge of the bonnet; I have covered positions 1, 2 and 5 with duct tape ans some mastic.
But, like I said, there is still some water going inside, and I don't know from where...
I am back with my old problem. Yes, I did not manage to solve it, but I have received some hints and I want to check now.
So, it happen that since 3 weeks ago I have moved to UK, in London to be more specific. So, I am now looking for a good body-work shop/service, because, as we know, the winter is coming and so are the rainy days. I saw that here on site are some adds, or partners, I don’t know how to call them.
Is anybody who can make a recommendation if worked with some of them or some other body-work shop? I would prefer to be some reliable service which knows what is doing, not another guy who is looking under the car, take the money and then say that he doesn't know where the problem is. I have already tried 2 like these. Of course, it would be nice if it would be somewhere around London.
