Rear knocking noise- sounds internal!? Any idea what to check?
I've got a rear rattling/knocking noise in my 147 sele that is annoying me. Thing is it sounds so clear from the inside of the car, and nothing noticable from outside with the window open.
I was wondering if there's any well-known simple things worth checking? In my old Bravo there was a seat bracket that was prone to squeaking/rattling about and it was fixed with a piece of duct tape! Anything similar to look for in a 147 before I look at more major mechanicals? Boot latch or anything?
I figure that's a long shot, more likely it's something to do with rear suspension somewhere. Avanti gave it a brief look over while they had it in to fix the sele and say there's slight wear in the 'rear suspension trailing arm hub bushes'. Does someone want to explain what that means in english!? Or know if it's a big/expensive job to fix? Are trailing arms like wishbones? I've replaced wishbones in the past with no probs.
