Hello Macbeast, have you had enough of me??
Right, quick bullet points.
. 2nd hand maf part ending 030 worked to a degree with no issues to date of low revs and not pulling off after a hard run, but flat spot at around 3000rpm.
.2nd hand 044 (original) sensor from 2002 1.6 TSpark provided no change of symptoms and still low revs, no pulling away. However, this one did not throw a MIL error. So old MAF still Duff.
All symptoms disappear with MAF unplugged, but smoke out back and not as smooth or responsive.
Took off EGR today (sorry took so long I've been busy) and it was caked. Cleaned it all off and car seemed to run a lot better. Took it for a thrashing and all seemed OK, till i got back in it ten mins later then, bleurgh. Low revs!!!!
Got home, made a gasket, blanked it off, took it out and done 100mph everywhere for nearly 20 miles. No flat spots, no low rpm at junctions. I'm letting it settle then I'll go out again to see if it's still OK.
I'm not a superstitious guy but fingers crossed. on this one.
HOWEVER!!!!!!! Why no low revs with the wrong MAF on 030?
If EGR kaput, why no low revs issue with MAF unplugged?
IF it's all interconnected with new values from wrong MAF somehow correcting error with EGR, then how many eggs in a chicken box?
