Re: 147 - changing brake pads

Sure someone will advise on changing pads but you could take a look here: http://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/alfa_rear_brake.shtml

How about silver for the calipers? Red will look a bit odd with a red car.

Re: 147 - changing brake pads

Pads must match discs so vented pads will not work with solid discs, and vice versa. Also you can't just swap the discs without changing the calipers. So if you have solid discs, you need the pads to match.

Front pads are relatively simple and I've got a "how-to" on my website if you are interested. http://members.lycos.co.uk/gazza82/
You will need a 7mm allen/hex key and a couple of spanners to get the pads out but the pistons just push back. The rears are another story!

On the caliper paint, I have the same dilemma: red car so what colour? Blue? Yellow? Gold? Black? Dirty as now??

Re: 147 - changing brake pads

Thanks both for the replies, very useful links there. Silver sounds good for the calipers, would be good to see a pic if anyone has already done it
