156 brake pad warning circuit
Does anyone have a good understanding of how exactly the brake pad warning circuit on the 156 works?
I got the "brake pads worn - go to dealer" warning a few times, even though I know the pads are fine. The front discs are quite worn, with "lips" around the edges, so I figured it must be something touching there on the edge of the disc which is setting off the warning.
I then disconnected the wire from the brake pad which plugs into the socket at the left-hand wheel, figuring that would stop the warning from showing up.
Today, I was cruising on the highway and suddenly, out of the blue, the brake pad warning appeared again. I wasn't even touching the brake pedal at the time.
Any ideas on what may be causing this?
