156 with a wet boot - Any ideas ?
I've been a long time reader, but this is my fiirst posting ...
I'm on my second alfa - previously a great '97 155 2.0 TS which I was very happy with but after 100K miles I thought I'd better replace it before it was worth nothing, so now on an 52 (interior facelift, but still the classic (IMO) exterior) 156 2.4 JTD Veloce (so 150 BHP to play with again, but very different from the petrol horses)
Anyway enough of that, since the start of the year I've noticed water collecting in the boot, in the spare wheel well, initially I thought it was just damp from some snow that fell in when I forgot to clear the bootlid before opening it (DOH!!), but having dried it out a few times its back again ... no obvious signs of water getting in , but the floor of the boot (the bit that lifts up) if quite damp. Any ideas where it could be coming from, anyone else experienced the same thing ?
BTW - Its got the big spoiler fitted so I guess there are a couple of non standard holes in the boot lid for the fixing bolts, could this be conected ?
Any ideas would be appreciated, before taking it off to the garage for them to have a look (charge a fortune !!) Probably end up back at Sunwins in Derby who have been pretty good to be honest, or may try PJ Motors in Tamworth, does anyone have any experiences with them (good or bad ?)
