Remapped 10v JTD running hot
Most of you probably know I've got a 200bhp 10v JTD now, but since the Alfa Owner North East run out it seems to be running hot. Coolant is full, this is the first thing I've checked but other than that I'm not sure what to check. At 70mph it sits at a steady 70, but only if I really give it the beans or sit at 90-100 does it start to get hot - sits around 90 degrees on the gauge, sometimes even gone past it and the fan's started. To stop it rising further I drop the back windows a bit and blast the heaters, I had to do this last summer in traffic a few times in the 30 degree heat. I know the fan comes on once it gets past 90 but I'd much rather it ran a bit colder, say about 70 or just a touch over as this is where it performs the best. About 90 its quite a bit slower..
Could it be possible something is broken? radiator? Thermostat seems to be doing its job.. Has anyone upgraded the cooling? Also, could it be anything to do with the fact my clutch is on its way out? I remember learning to drive in a Corsa, when messing about with the clutch maneouvering and doing 3 point turns repeatedly it got hot quick...
If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Its in for MOT on wednesday so I can get it sorted then if its something simple. Cheers guys
