Still cant believe you put it in the bin for a clutch. Just for future reference if anybody is at the point of scrapping something. Try your local college. Free fitting of parts by the trainee mechanics. Its got to be worth a punt for a £150 clutch kit
It wasn't a case of binning it. I tried and tried to get somebody to fix it but nobody would commit the time, return my calls or give a straight answer.
Two garages took it in and returned it without starting the work. I was fed up with getting lecture after lecture about how difficult the job was, the potential extra costs versus the value of the car etc etc.
Realistically I had to commit a grand to getting it repaired (when I factored in VAT). If I had had a grand I would have paid it but I simply couldn't raise it.
I was tempted to take it further away to a repairer but my break down cover refused to help and I wasn't sure how much further I could drive it.
In the end I was even considering Mr Clutch which I was pretty certain would wreck it, they couldn't even manage doing a clutch in my sisters Nissan Almera.
I had to close the book at some stage.
Although the JTS doesn't have nearly the smile factor of the V6, the rest of the car is so much better. It is so nice to have the facelift interior, better looking exterior and the more modern features. I know a lot of people hate the JTS but this is my second and I am a real fan.
