Engine surge

I have a 147 2.0 T spark. I have noticed that there is a surge in the engine when trying to accelerate.

Only had the car a couple of weeks. I took of the coil pack and checked the plugs. Pot 1 had water half way up it. This is not coolant. I suspect its when the dealer gave the engine a wash.

I cleaned it out and dried as best i could and then drove it. It was 100% over what it was, but i still have a slight surge or if you like, a stutter when acceleration.

The plugs were changed 3000km ago so i think they should be ok. Has anybody experienced this before and what can be done about it.

Its due for a cam belt change shortly, could this be the cause. Basically i am stumped.

Split air intake pipe most likely.
