front n/s wishbone bolt

replaced n/s upper wish bone but the long bolts thread was stripped when removed
went on ebay bolt advertised for 17 inc postage wow.........advertised as 147 suspension bolt.
got stainless a4 grade bolt for 2.46p from bulk bolt sellers with nut and washers .
still on ebay........think i will start selling these bolts lol............

are you sure the stainless item is up to use in the suspension..

did you confirm the grade when changing it

I certainly wouldn't advise using any form of stainless bolt in a. Dressed roll like suspension.

It's ok for things like cam covers, tb , inlet bolts but not suspension.

You want to be getting a 10.9 or 12.9 mild steel bolt for the suspension.

I supply bolts for other cars so have done a lot of research in to what can and can't be used and where

Sounds like a good a idea at first glance as it's an area prone to corrosion. it could however be difficult to torque up correctly as the nut may gaul on the thread, this is in addition to any work hardening problems that could occur to the bolt when in place.

like everyone says stainless isnt upto it.....get a high tensile bolt back in there asap
