Re: 156 - how remove a small spoiler?
I have just removed my spoiler on my 156 v6 sp3 (small spoiler)
I wanted a car without the spoiler but the best one I came across when i came to buy a car had one on and as it wasn't the massive whale tail style one i thought i would live with it.
in the end just wasn't happy with it so have taken it off.
one bolt on either side, there is no fastening in the middle although the wire for the brake light mounted in the spoiler runs up through the middle of the centre support.
I just cut the wire behind the inside cover of the boot lid.
the spoiler is also attached with some sort of glue/sealant stuff although on mine the bond was quite easily broken to release it.
You are left with a couple of bolt holes and one left in the middle where the wire ran through and also I still have some of the glue stuck to the paint work.
My plan is to keep any eye out on a popular auction site for a boot lid in the right colour without the spoiler and replace it but for now I am much happier with the look of the car without it, I suppose because I was really after a GTA but couldn't afford one and the GTA doesn't have a spoiler.
