EGR Valve Help
My 147 JTD (1.9) would suddenly decide to start limping at lower speeds, sometimes the engine will cut out, when I tried to turn it on it the engine rolled but wouldn't start. The AA said the problem was a clogged EGR valve.
I took it to the garage, had the EGR valve taken out and the carbon cleaned out of it, checked for diagnostic problems etc. The car worked fine for 24 hours until this morning the engine cut out, I was able to get it started by tapping the EGR valve lightly with a hammer whilst the engine was rolling.
Would this suggest it is definitely a problem with the EGR valve? Im guessing I'd need to get a new one fitted. They're generally about £130 but I've seen some on ebay for around £60 with a 1 year warranty, would these be significantly worse quality?
Or is there likely to be another underlying problem?
Any advice/help would be appreciated,
