Re: Alfa ending production of the GT V6?
Sad though it is, the demise of the GT V6 is inevitable, bearing in mind how long ago production of the Arese built V6 engine ceased. That's one reason why I purchased mine last year, before it was too late.....
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I loved the article in Car magazine last December, when they had a preliminary drive of the 8C Competizione in, of all places, the abandoned Arese factory. To quote, "Three barren buildings lie before us, a heavy layer of dust coating the few remaining fittings, arbitrary excavations puckering the floor, the halls silent save for the sterile echo of our falling footsteps. In the 1960s, these industrial shells delivered the Alfa Romeo Giulia to an adoring public. Just two years ago, 800 men and women toiled proudly here, producing the last mass production engine to double as automotive art: Alfa's sonorous 3.2 litre V6."
