clutch pedal stuck down, clutch still engaged
New to the forums and Alfa's as I have only just purchased a 147 1.9 q2. The car has driven well since owning and I have had no issues. I however didn't like how heavy the clutch was and decided to get it replaced so I took it to an independant Alfa garage who replaced the clutch the same day and told me the mass flywheel and slave cylinder looked fine. The car initially drove well and I was happy but unfortunately when reversing to park the next day, the reverse gear got stuck and I could not get it out of reverse, also the pedal was stuck to the floor and I was only able to get it out my pulling the pedal up with my foot.
The problem is intermitant and has happened in other gears. I just tonight went out and managed to replicate the problem and as I revered I noticed that the gear was stuck in reverse. Another strange thing is that when the gear is stuck even if I have my foot fully planted on the clutch pedal, if I life my foot of the brake the car still engages.
Any ideas would really be appreciated
