Tyres - Four average or two quality?
Basically I have three different brands of tyre on my 147 Q2 at the moment, all of them budget. It's making the handling very poor in regards to sharpness, grip and ride quality so I'm looking to upgrade them.
I've set aside around £150 for it and I'm just wondering - is it better to get four budget tyres or two quality ones for just the front? Is £70-£80 enough for a decent tyre? Is it always best to get new ones or are used ones sometimes a good deal?
EDIT: I've spoken to a friend who says my best bet is to get some used ones on eBay and take them to a garage for fitting. He reckons about 6mm of tread is a decent amount. Can we get some decent tyre suggestions going on? He had Toyo Proxy T1-R's and really liked them. I've heard good things about Goodyear Eagle F1's but they're very expensive. I know lots about tyre physics and car handling - but virtually nothing about tyre brands! I like Michelin and Bridgestone and dislike Pirelli for F1 reasons. That's about it.
EDIT 2: I'm just reading about Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU39. They seem like an absolute bargain. ~£70 and all the reviews seem brilliant!
