156 Electrical gremlins??
I recently bought a 1998 156V6 and unfortunately have encountered a few problems. The first is that it is showing the NSF door to be open when it isn't, the interior light doesn't come on though unless you physically open the door. If you hold either the NSF or OSF window switches up the interior lights come on for a second then go off again, the NSR door doesn't show open on the dash but the interior lights work ok. Because of this I can't always lock the car because the alarm goes off or the buttons open themself after a few seconds. I assume that these are all related but they may be a common concern. I have a good mechanical and electrical background but obviously don't want to have to go mad if not neccessary. When I was younger I always used to run Fiat 131 mirafiori sports (preferably orange) and more recently an old Integrale so I do realise Italian electrics can be tempremantal.
Secondly the car only ever gets to 90 degrees if it is traffic. It never overheats but the guage stays around 70 degrees. I tried a new thermostat incase it was lazy or stuck open but it is still the same. I am wondering if they are designed to run cold.
Thanks for reading any help will be appreciated.
