The timing belts/water pump are changed at the 60k mark, the official is 72k I think but most specialists will say 60k is wise. Or 4 years, whichever is sooner. You'll hear some Alfa owners talk about cheese suspension which seems to affect the 147/156/GT breed of motors. Mine's going for upper wishbones this week but a good place to look is the tyres, inner edge front tyre wear can indicate worn uppers but can also indicate poor wheel alignment. Worn wishbones tend to squeak/creak over bumps, the lower wishbones tend to last longer and are around 80 each plus labour to fit. Budget around 100 per side for the upper wishbones but this should include labour and parts.

As for prices I've heard good things about M.V.C. in Sale, they did the last timing belt change on my car and they charged 390inc parts if memory serves. That included the aux belt too.

Hope this helps.

147 Sport Q2: Autolusso Remap + Swirl Flap & EGR Delete, Mocal Oil Cooler Kit, JTD Performance FMIC Kit + High Flow Elbow, Wizard Downpipe, PF Pads + 5.1 Fluid, Autolusso Braided Brake Lines, MTech Short-Shifter, Autolusso Silicone Turbo-to-MAF Hose, Refurbed Q2's + Some to add later.

Was the water pump done when the belts were done? If not I'd get it done sharpish as the water pump is what fails on the diesel engines.
