Okay the real reason I suddenly upped my budget and bought a newer sportwagen, rather can carry on looking for older ones needing abit of work, is I might have to actually go into the office for a while
Yes for the last 2 to 3 years, I've been doing a couple of hours work in the morning from my home office, then taking the phone out to the workshop, and checking my emails when I have a tea break, and that was passing for a full days work while I tinkered with alfas and land rovers. However it looks like I might have to work in the office for a while until I think of an excuse that flies
Anyway I will have less time for some of my projects, so I'm going to offer some of them on here, for anybody that can do them justice. I can help with transport of the vehicles.
First a matched pair of 147 2.0 Selespeed, They are the same colour and interior trim, they could actually be twins, one is a 53 plate and the other a 04 plate. One has an engine that sounds like a fleet of sewing machines having a fight, and the other has a gearbox that won't come out of neutrel. The obviously plan was to pull the gearbox\engine out of each and make one good car, and take all the best bits of the others. Result one really nice car, and one parts\donor car. Open to sensible offers for the pair.
Secondly a 54 plate 147 1.6 engine in Silver, damage to the drivers door, and the gear level needs new bushes and (A complete secondhand leaver\cables may be a good idea) I bought this for my daughter as an incentive to get on and pass her driving test, but she is still not bothered so it can go before I start work on it.
Third, a X reg 156 Saloon, scruffy, bought as a parts car with a good engine, but bodywrok is scruffy.
Forth, a 02 Plate 156 1.8, this was the missus runabout it is now out of MOT (I rebuilt a GTV for her) but I'd be happy to put it through an MOT for the right money, can't see it wanting anything beyond the odd bulb maybe.
Final Alfa is a Y Reg 156 Sportwagen needs a new clutch slave fitting, which I was starting to do when I discovered one sill and the floorpan are rotting, so was going to become a parts car.
And the black sheep in the pack, an S Reg Vauxhall Astra estate, this has been treated as a work horse, it's a bit scruffy, but is a good honest reliable car, This I have just replaced with my new Sportwagen :-)
The Astra has Mot and Tax (A decent chunk of both without checking dates) but all the others are out of MOT and Tax.
I also have a 2.0L Twin Spark CF2 that has a snapped cambelt, has most if not all the auxillaries still bolted to it, it can be turned over, but apart from that, all I know is cambelt has parted company with the engine
If you are interested in any of these projects feel free to ask, I'll post some pictures shortly, if no one is interested I'll keep them till I can start working from home again
