Exhaust Gas Sensor - GT V6

My 2005 Gt V6 has a Motor Control System Failure light on all the time at the moment. When it was in the dealer for a number of other issues, they told me that the fault was with an exhaust gas sensor, that had been damaged at some point. They quoted me £350 to replace. As I'd spent a lot on the car at the time, I declined. But I'm looking to get this work done now, either by myself if possible, otherwise by my local garage.
Now, there seem to be more than one exhaust gas sensor on this model. How do I find out which one is defective? If it helps, the dealer described it as being "behind the bottom of the front bumper"
Is this work that anyone else has carried out?

Where are you in london?

it does depend which Lambda sensor it is. Could be any.

Did you take it to a main dealer? If so that explain the rediculous prices.

If you are in East London you should go to Sunnyside Garage Alfa Specialists in Chadwell Heath. They look after my GT 3.2.

If you are close to me (Barking) I can read the code for you on my machine and we can work out exactly which sensor it is.

I've just had that one changed I assume it's on the forward end of the engine
Was under my car last weekend and spotted the new sensor access was fine from what I can remember
My local Indy fitted it for £177 plus a bit of fault diagnosis
