The relay is only activated to power the pump, which will only be as required to maintain the 50bar pressure in the system.
It isn't on continuously.
The brushes in the pump motor also start to go after a while, which means a new pump unless you can find an auto-electrician to make and fit new brushes in th motor.
When the brushes start to go, a bump or vibration will get it running again, which is why the problem often happens most at low speed or while stationary.
Pumps are about £200, so are at the lower end of the expense scale...
