V6 gearbox swap
As the 1.9 JTD doesn't rev as High as the V6 I'm assuming that the otherwise fairly identical 6 speed gearboxes have a different final ratio. this being the case has anyone ever fitted a JTD box to a V6 in order to get taller ratios and therefore possibly a little more economy on long motorway journeys. Obviously acceleration and performance would be reduced but other than standing starts you can always drop down one gear more than normal.
You're probably going to tell me it's less hassle to just buy a diesel, well I do have one and that's one reason why I have a spare box lying around the place but it's the noise of the V6 and the smoothness that the diesel will never come close to
I'm assuming they'd be a straight swap in every other respect.
I can take it. . tell me why it's a c**p idea.
Infamy, Infamy, They've all got it In For me!
