156 SW roof aerial removal.

Has anyone got a method of removing the roof stubby aerial simply?

I'm going to have a go at vinyl wrapping the roof and it will be massively easier of I had the aerial removed for the process.

That said, if as some have suggested. the roof aerial isn't actually producing the radio input, I may just remove it permanently.

Not having done it on a 156 SW I may have missed something, but on the 147 I peeled off the hatch seal and eased down the headlining enough to get my hands in, I used some lengths of pipe insulation to hold the lining down while I worked
Next I unplugged the 2 wires going to the base and used a 22mm spanner to undo the big nut holding it on.

My only tip would be to get someone to hold the aerial outside while you undo it so it won't spin once it comes out of the square peg hole that holds it straight.

What you wrapping it with ?
