Re: Woooooahhhhhh! WTF??! I thought I had traction control??!
My 147 also oversteered last week on a damp country road in a serie of left-right corners. The 147 rear is very light and sometimes a little unpredictable during weight transfer in a series of corners.
Traction control doesn’t help in this case, but VDC should help to keep her under control.
Anyway, if the rear starts to oversteer in FWD car, don’t go off the accelerator dramatically or don’t brake. Keep the power on the front wheels and combined with a steering wheel contra they should pull you out of the corner.
This is quite an expensive lesson learned when I crashed my golf few months ago. When started to oversteer in a wet corner I released the accelerator (a little in panic I have to admit) and after a a little snaking I cashed into a parked car. It is instinct for most drivers to go off the gas when the car slides, but works only by understeer.
