We are looking for a replacement for my OHs Ford Focus which is now on it's last legs and think we have decided on replacing it with a 147. This car will not do many miles, probably around 6k a year at most so my thoughts are going towards the 1.6TS engine. There seems to be quite a few low mileage examples around for our circa £5k budget.
Is there anything in particular we should look out for on this model? Is there any reason why we should be looking at a diesel rather than petrol? I have previously had a 1.6 146 (from new - bad experience) and a 2.2 Brera (from nearly new - great experience) so we are not strangers to Alfas and the fact that they can be either fantastic or a bit of a nightmare!
