It was easy with just the bottom five screws removed.

Managed to get the strut brace to fit the 147 20v turbo conversion....

Left to go;
New Thermostat to go on.
Wiring loom and ecu.
Custom power steering, brake fluid and intercooler sprayed bottle.
then reassemble!

My god that looks awesome. is there a build thread somewhere?

Well arrived back from a work trip to Hong kong..And this evening i went to fetch my eibach coilover spanner from the post office. Just finished lowering my clover slightly 2 turns on the thread all round from how autolusso set her up. And already i think i have found the height and stance sweet spot. Also fitted 2 more 5mm spacers to the front as the first 2 i had to return as one was not balanced. So she is really sitting sweet right now. Will take her out for a test run tomorrow, then take some pics when she has properly settled.

Another bonus was how easy the eibach pro coils were to adjust compared to my old bilstein pss9's. Bliss. The rears took a couple of minutes each to adjust. Just love the coils, so glad i went for them over a fixed damper and spring.

Right off to bed i am shattered...lol.

Damien.

Had the dreaded upper wishbone squeak on the passenger side. Time to change both, and do the droplinks at the same time.

All done by my more than capable local mech. Car back on the ground, and test time.
Exact same squeak still there, no difference in sound whatsoever..... WTF..?

After a bit of detective work, involving a stethoscope, it turns out the squeak is coming from the top of the shock absorber.
Retaining nut removed, and a second washer fitted. All tightened up, and squeak has vanished

Did change the oil filter and fresh Castrol Edge 10w60. New platinum plugs, and a new cabin filter. The one that came out was the original single element, must've been in there for ten years

All in all, a happy bunny... Feels a lot tighter in the twisty bits now

Replaced the broken clip on my parcel shelf, so at least if the turbo fails the parcel shelf doesn't squeak 😉

Today, I have decided that my project 156 has to go.
Sadly, I just need to have my parking space back, so I'm going to scrap
the 156 2.0 JTS
if anyone wants/needs any parts, please get in touch.
Sad sad day

Replaced rear exhaust hanger..lots of hot water and lube...

Drove some great roads down to east sussex, funny enough where i used to drive my old Gt...My god the clover is brilliant on a good twisty country road. The eibach pro coils are infinitely better than the old Koni fsd's i used to have. And the q2 diff is also so effective in the whole equation. Just love driving this car, just gets better and better.

Cheers Tommy, ordered some. Not usually a fan of gadgets for the car but an exception has been made.

Finally have the rear hubs painted and bearing/disc guard ready to go back on. Front springs dampers pieced together with new upper rubbers. Thought I was being clever greasing them but they just popped off the coil haha.

Now thats a tuffy Kylev . I love the wheels and fancied a set for my GT

But looking at them on yours I don't think they suit it , maybe as little lowering .

Could do with be lowered slightly i agree. But then every GT would suit being lower. Not got the money to lower it just now but might in the future

Well gave my recently chassis fettled cloverleaf a real testing session on some great sussex back roads the last few days. Simply awesome, could not be happier, the poise of the car is sublime, and so much superior to my old GT on koni fsd's and eibach. Before i left on the trip i adjusted my ride height, went a bit lower all round. Was a little anxious that i would ruin the ride quality. Still the eibach pro kit was compliant and cosseting on the back roads, and dynamically first class. Cannot say enough positive things about the kit. Have found the perfect ride height now. And she looks and sits just lovely. Happy days.
