Received my new ELM adapter in the post, and got to play about in MES trying to reset the service milage!

Got there eventually, and don't think I cocked it up

Another MOT pass today... but like always it can never be perfect. The chip in the windscreen is not repairable so it looks like a new one of those is needed.

Fitted my new (second hand) VNT solenoid this evening, and replaced the easy to reach vac hose with silicone stuff from eBay!

Went as far as the crankcase breather valve on the back of the engine with the silicone hose.. Then the vac line disappears into the rear of the engine and I didn't fancy getting stuck in back there tonight.. Ended up finishing on the corner bend union so will be nice and neat to carry on the new hose if I fancy it..

Nice easy job for a Friday evening post-work unwind in the garage, and after a week of terrible fuel economy, smokey acceleration, and suuuuper boring throttle response...

Turbo's back baby

My silicone hose kit arrived today so hope to fit as much of it as I can over the weekend if it ever stops raining.

Turbo to the solenoid is easy (pop off the lower intercooler hose for easy access), solenoid up to the rear of the engine is easy enough too.. What happens behind the engine is a mystery to me as I just gave up

Hi!
My 147, 1.6 consumes a lot of oil, (my car almost done 200,000 K.m) so today i decided its time to change the oil type from 10W40 to 20W50, (which was an advise of a mechanic engineer) and the results are just great! engine is more quiet, and i could feel the car act differently, in terms of oil consumption i still need to wait some more days to observe the consumption, but generally speaking i feel that car more happy!

Yesterday, I poured resin over my air-leaking swirl flap bearings, which has sealed them in the 10 o'clock position. Todays test drive felt like a previous flat spot had been resolved.

Made a trip into Skipton for a few bits, saw that excellent 946 Spider again but it looks like some feathered friends made a deposit or two in my absence. However I did find a tool for the job, sad I know but how could I not buy these?

Took it out for a proper test drive post VNT solenoid fix and replacing the vac hoses with silicone...

Last nights quick dash to the shops ended up popping off the lower hose because I didn't get it sat correctly on the intercooler.. Sorted that in 20 minutes today (didn't even take the undertray off!), and then took it for a blast...

Wow... After a week driving with no boost, I almost forgot what it felt like!!!!

Proper monday morning, failed to start the day due to a dead battery.
Luckily had alternative transportation available.
Thanks to the boys at motor factors Hnos Gomez Pleguezuelos who hooked me up this afternoon with a new one for only 67€.
I love it when local businesses manage to combine good service with competitive pricing.
(I'm pretty sure they're giving me trade prices tbh, I will be using them more often)

DIY repair on my EGR valve, back to normal now and engine management light hasn't resurfaced (yet).

Quietly pleased with myself as someone who's happy to tinker with aesthetics but first crack at an engine issue

Spent Sunday morning applying some TLC to my baby, fixed a broken bolt on the air-filter and (hopefully) a mystifying water leak.
Took the time to give the engine bay a bit of a clean and polish. Those silver intake pipes are looking as good as new now, that gorgeous engine bay is one of the reasons I bought her in the first place...

My suspension is groaning oh so much more I have noticed over the weekend after a week's holiday away (not in the car). I have done the front and rear suspension on this car within the last three years.
I'm not personally, doing it again.

Washed, went for round 2 on the stone chip touch up kit, topped up fluids (possible slow coolant leak ), fixed the parcel shelf rattle with some foam pads, and ordered some Autobrite goodies (Cherry Glaze and a bottle of Purple Velvet) from ioclean as they're on a 15% off flash sale until tonight!

Happy that it's booked in at Autolusso South on Friday for wishbone work... Got a rattle on the aux end (sounds like alternator pulley from what I've read), unidentified fluid leak (colour looks like AC gas/oil), and possible slow loss of coolant too...

Brand new near side driveshaft fitted and car drives so much better - no more shake , rattle and roll !

Driver's side one has a bit of play but nowhere near as bad , will get that done in the next month or two .

Replaced 1 goosed tailgate strut with 2 new ones, makes quite a difference! Still got one decent one if anyone wants it?
