With the new PS3's and the new wishbones and ARB the grip is immense. The rears are Kuhmo's which were on the car when I bought it last year. And I've done 15k since I've had it!

Next month I think two more PS3's and the rear ARB.
Ill second that on the ARB's its astonishing how it transforms the chassis. I would just get an eibach kit fitted pure and simple..

You reckon fitting the ARBs is worth it with stock shocks/springs still in place?

Yes no doubt.. For example on my first GT i fitted Koni FSD's and eibach pro springs. The car would lurch in fast corners. Although ride quality had greatly improved i remember being pretty disappointed with my new then set up. Ned suggested i fit Eibach ARB's. With the new Eibach bars fitted the car was transformed. Total control and stability in fast cornering, the lurching had gone. And also the steering felt more communicative.

Took my coil packs and plugs out to try and cure a lumpy idle. I found number 2 cylinder plug chamber was full of oil through a leaking seal so I cleaned it out. Number 4 coilpack stunk of that pungent electrical smell you get from failing coils, so I swapped it with a spare. Now it has a smooth idle, result! I just need to change the seals/rocker gasket

Decided that the GT is going to become a daily driver again. Fed up with the wife clouting alloys on my Brera.

The GT is her car afterall so she can run it into the ground as far as I'm concerned. I have no real love for it & I'm done with her & cars.

My Brera has done 47k and unlike the GT is on it's original engine. It is pretty mint so probably more collectable anyway.

Ouch. Go easy Simon. This is out of character for me. Women (men have faults too ladies so rest easy) do seem to struggle more so than men with spatial awareness and catching bits of bodywork trim and wheel kerbing is a favourite of at least one or two I know.

You sound well ****ed off

I am

She did a wheel on the 500 the day before it went & I've just spent 250 getting the Brera wheels re-done after her efforts over the last year

The trouble is, getting her to use her GT is more of a reward than a punishment as she loves the bloody thing

Geez mate thats a sad post.. The GT v6 is a real classic the Bumbera is a newer member of the family and sorry but will never be a classic..Honestly if i had not of bought my clover i would be making you an offer you couldn't refuse on your GT right now. When the love is gone its time to move on..

It's his wife's car. I was not always a fan of my missus car either.

Cheers Pal..fair cop..It was 4 am where i am lol..Should have read between the lines. Still i wish i could do an extreme makeover on that lovely red GT v6..Decent chassis mods make her ride better and handle better, and i am sure Simon would be amazed what can be achieved with the car. But respect he loves his Bumbrera.

The pundits tip the V6 Brera as the future Classic not the V6 GT, which is surprising.

Having lived with both & without rose tinted glasses (or extensive mods) the Brera is the better car.

The GTV V6 is also tipped for future classic status.

Busso vs GM?
Bertone vs Italdesign?

I don't get it. Who are these pundits?

Out the box the Brera wins hands down. The GT in standard form is pretty average, yet has huge potential. I certainly dont have rose tinted glasses. I am a realist and there was no way i could have kept a std GT. No way. You have to unlock the cars potential unlike the more modern Brera. But when you do oh boy..I find it sad you will never experience this. Still i am happy you have found happiness in the more modern Alfa coupe. Hard to believe the "american v6" Brera will have higher classic status than the GT busso. Horses for courses. I wont ever own one as it has nothing to offer me personally. Yet respect immensely it ticks other peoples boxes.

Gutted out the boot of the upholstery on the GT which got a clean but I can not get those six rusty bolts off to remove the bumper. Soaked with ACF50. How do I unbolt the two side compartments covered by the grey arches that have the seat belts coming out?

I cleaned my 156 "Predator Sportiva" Today if only the roads in Northampton were good enough to drive it on.
