147 Strut Brace??

Anyone know what effect a strut brace would have on a 147's handling?? Less leaning in corners, less dashboard creaks hopefully? And the downsides...

Re: 147 Strut Brace??

Strut braces stiffen the shell of the car so you're going to see changes in two respects.
1. Less scuttle shake, i.e. the bodyshell will flex less over rough sirfaces, and yes, this will reduce the ammount of creaking trim
2. The handling will change due to the reduced level of twist along the length of the car, and deflection resulting from loading at each corner.

In effect, if you fit a brace at the front the steering will be sharper. Fit one at the back and it will improve stability.
