GT Front Side Lights

Hi Guys,

I am a very proud Alfa Romeo 3.2 GT Owner. I've been fortunate enough to have only ever owned Alfa's and the GT is my sixth one.

Has anyone had any issues with their front side lights on their GT or similar? My warning lights came on and so I took the vehicle to my local mechanic who informed me that the entire bumper would need to be removed to fit the lights (it had xenons so access to the headlamp) is restricted) - on hearing this I called HWM Alfa Romeo at Walton on Thames who told me this was not the case and that they would do the job. Well to cut a long story short, I was charged 185 by HWM to change the front bulbs and the bumper had to be removed...

Have any of you guys had the same issue??

Great choice of car

If you have Xenon's then I believe it is a bumper off job to gain access. It is possible to change them on non Xenon cars without removing the bumper, but is not easy.

At that price, when the other one goes, make sure you get led's put in on both sides.

...but get good quality LEDs- the last ones I put in lasted for just a few months. I have no idea how to recognise good quality LEDs, though. Cheapo ebay ones are probably best avoided.

Issue? I don't consider it an issue. It's just how the car was designed. Not much space in the engine bay.

I wrote a guide to DIY:

I have had to change my sidelights and if you have xenons it is a bumper off job. Used shiny cars instructions and had no problems.
