Any advice/opinions on the following would be great and help my plan of action!
Driving home yesterday, and the clutch pedal suddenly felt soft and slow on the way back up. Found it hard to change gear, so left it in 3rd and got home, as it was only about a mile away.
Fast forward to this morning the car will no longer go into gear when clutch pedal fully depressed and engine running. Will go in fine when gear selected before starting engine, however the bite point is about 1cm off the floor.
Pumping the clutch doesn't really make a difference and I got my head down to inspect the pedals and the connection to the master cylinder (I presume) from the clutch pedal has black oily gunk on it (not sure what this is, may be dirty brake fluid)
Brake fluid reservoir is between min and max, not sure what the problem could be. I'm thinking maybe master or cylinder as there was 0 slip in the clutch beforehand (but have had an instant clutch failure on my JTD before - release bearing was shagged)
My first port of call will be to try and bleed the system and take it from there.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance
