My on going tyre woes! Help
Long story short - Went to get new back brake pads fitted 2 weeks ago. Got tyres rotated too. Also tracking done, car now producing a whining noise from the front with very gentle vibration under braking!
Went back last weekend, waited one and a half hours, the poor technicians didn't even look at it, too busy! I had to leave for lunch at mother in laws house!
Been to have a poke today, I have gained 2 nails in the back tyres, one each side! Both towards the edge of the tyres, both tyres with less than 4mm of tread on them. The fronts don;t grip as well as the backs. Going to swallow cost a buy a full new set!
At present I have Goodyear Eagle GSD3s on the back (were front) and very poor Ventus Sport by Nankang at the front whcih comparatively don't grip at all wet or dry.
I've looked at good old black circles.com
and slimmed the choise to these.
Toyo Proxes T1-R at £69.92
Dunlop SP3000 A at £63.38
Goodyear Eagle GSD 3s at £81.53
Conti Sport contact 2 at £76.21
I have had GSDs before they grip very well, but are very expensive!
I have Conti Sport contacts on my old 155 V6 and they were good, but wore badly.
Any opinions, advice etc.
My experience with cheap tyres has generally been that they wear well but are not predictable or progressive!
Really, any advice, or direction happily accepted!
