I replaced the longitudinal rear arms and top bearing (bushes) on the struts last year. Whilst I was there I replaced the drop links too. I think they're either fooked or worked loose as they are once again knocking.
I can't remember if I mentioned the cheese suspension (on mine at least
). It is annoying but then so was the constant electrical gremlins and leaky boat Passat I had but one car before the GT.
I have a 916 Spider, 1997 and my ex had a 1998 MX5, none of them leak/leaked (MX5 just sold) and yet both my VW and A4 did.
My point is they all suffer with **** but Alfa's are highlighted because three and half million years ago they had some dodgy electrics and rusty steel.
As I drove through the area we live just the other day, some kid shouted in through my open window (the errr well kind of.. air con is broke
) "Nice car mister". I have only ever had that said driving Italian cars, some exotic admittedly. Never got that with any other German, British, Japanese and for my sins French cars I've owned.
Somewhere in this thread somebody suggested that when asked about your Alfa just reply that you bought it because you enjoy it so much. There are some very wise words on these interweb pages right here.
