Alfa 156 key stopped working - can't locke the car
My key stopped working so I can't lock the car now. Its a 2000 156 1.8 TS.
I've had it three years and it hasn't let me down. It did this about two years ago, very briefly, and reset itself somehow after a few hours and there have been no problems since, until last night. Then the fob just stopped working.
I have tried the battery disconnect fix - that didn't work.
The car starts and runs fine still.
I know I can get the key fob repaired by zacsystems on ebay, but I only have one key, so i'll be without car for a week when i do that, but i need a temp fix for the moment, as i need the car.
So...Can I disconnect the alarm and just lock it using the key? If so how do I disconnect the alarm? I don't want to risk immobilizing the car, as I can still use it at the moment, but leaving it unlocked is not good.
Help would be appreciated.
