Condensation in headlamp lens unit......

I recently changed the dipped beam bulb - which is a nightmare I might add....

Took the bulb out to take to Halfords to make sure I got the correct one. Meant I left the back cover off of the unit on the journey there so for about an hour or so.

Got the new bulb in and now a few days later there's condensation on the inside of the plastic lens.

Is this because I left it without the cover and moisture got in it whilst I drove down the road? Will it eventually go or is there some way for wiping it away??? Doubt it....

Not a big deal but annoying to look at none the less...!

Well if you mounted the cover then the moist is not going to go away. You might be able to dry it out with a hairdryer but it´s gonna take some time and you have to make sure to position the hairdryer so that the warm air will enter, circulate at bottom and the come out again. Maybe a piece of cardboard as aur-duct can do the trick.

Check the seal round the headlight is intact (if not seal up with silicone) sometimes they can deteriorate over time. The hairdryer thing should work, I used to do this on my old ford escort to get it though MOT as the lens always fogged up.

I would take all the bulbs out and direct the air through from one side so it should come out the other side taking the moisture with it. Cardboard to direct it sounds a good idea though.
