I can strongly recommend a re-map rather than a re-chip. Same results with far less hassle. Angel Tuning (Leamington Spa, Warwickshire) get on here quite a lot - search for 'engine re-mapping'.
Lowering the suspension is a bad idea for the 2.4 JTD. You have to be so careful of the sump as it is, with standard spec. Stiffening the suspension is a better idea; it protects the sump over speed bumps. It will improve the road-holding if done properly. Lowering per se just makes the car look cool in certain peoples eyes; to others, it has the opposite effect. IMO it looks cool enough as it is!
